AUTOMATIC BOOM GATE FOR TRAIN/ROAD INTERSECTION
FEATURES:
Shuts gate, turns traffic light red, sounds buzzer at start
Has four sensors all tied to the same 555timer
Uses PWM from Microcontroller for IR emitter
Has upper and lower limit switches to prevent gate from over shooting(these have to be activated manually during simulation)
Verifies to ensure that intruption is actually caused by a train(shortest train at highest speed determines shortest time that a train could possibly interrupt the sensor. Set to 5 seconds)
On detecting a train, Red traffic light comes on, buzzer sounds, gate closes
Note*
Red LED used in place of IR emitter(not available in ISIS)
Push button switch used in place of IR detector(not available in ISIS will have to be activated during simulation)

very good work.well done.pls i would like to know the conditions that the Green and Yellow LEDs will be turned on
ReplyDeleteone of the push buttons of the IR sensor pairs is normally closed and the rest are normally closed
ReplyDeletehow do they operate?
SW1 and SW2 are used as the up and down limit switches so to run the simulation its recommended to open them both and close them when the motor is moving up or down to see the response.
ReplyDeleteI am using the push buttons to emulate the IR receivers and the RED LEDs to emulate the IR transmitters, so in all there are four locations the train can interrupt the IR line, and all of those would trigger an action. In running the simulation it's again recommended to leave them all open, and press one of them to see how the system responds.
At start the gate is automatically closed and the Red is on until the lower limit is turned on, the it begins to check for a train. If no train is detected, it opens the gate and turns on the Green. It will keep turning until you close the upper limit switch and open the lower one(not required for opening).
To simulate the detection of a train, just press any of the push buttons. It will begin to close until you hit the lower limit is hit again and the upper is opened(not required for closing)
The 5s wait in the verification depends on a lot of factors ESP the length of the shortest train and the speed of the fastest train. For simulation purposes I would recommend you reduce the time to about 50ms and recompile with GCbasic, since the simulation runs slowly due to the use of PWM.
There is additional explanation in the .gcb file
THANKS A LOT.FEEL MUCH BETTER WITH THIS EXPLANATION
